Google Scholar: Linking to Full Text Journal Articles from Your Search Results
Click here for a downloadable pdf file with instructions for linking to Falvey's
holdings from your Google Scholar results.
What is Google Scholar and how is it
different from Falvey’s specialized databases?
Google Scholar, a subset of the Google search engine, is a quick and handy way
to retrieve **a selection** of useful scholarly articles on a topic. It is
currently most effective in the areas of science, medicine, and technology. For
a more thorough search of any topic, a follow-up in one or more of the library's
specialized databases
How do I connect to Google Scholar?
Will the most recent articles be listed first?
No, results are ranked by relevance, not by year of publication. However, the Google Scholar "Advanced
Search" allows you to limit your results by date range. Try some of the other
"Advanced Search" features too. The "cited by" link will take you to other
publications that have cited a particular article.
Can I link to articles that Falvey subscribes to and can I do this from off campus?
YES! Now you can now link to the full text of electronic journal articles to which Falvey subscribes. This can
be done from off campus as well as on campus. Your university LDAP ID and
password will be required to access full text articles. To learn more,
click here to download our pdf guide.
