Welcome to Quest for the Spring 2004 Core Humanities Seminars!

Your Core Humanities instructor will give you instructions on completing these Quest activities before you attend your Quest Strategies session at Falvey Library with your class.

Quest has been designed by the Falvey librarians and Core Humanities faculty to introduce you to essential resources that you can access via the Falvey Library homepage. 

Objectives

By completing Quest you will learn how to:

1. Search VUCat (Falvey Library’s online catalog) for a book on a topic.
2. Recognize important elements of a VUCat record: author, title, call number and Library of
Congress (LC) subject headings.
3. Know the function of an LC call number.
4. Locate and evaluate a book on your topic according to a set of criteria.
5. Evaluate two Web sites according to a set of criteria.
