E-ZBorrow Instructions
E-ZBorrow allows Villanova students, staff, and faculty to initiate their own requests to
borrow books from the participating Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium (PALCI)
institutions. These include many institutions in Pennsylvania and the
surrounding region. The EZ Borrow direct service is currently not available
for requesting journals or photocopies of journal/ newspaper articles.
3 easy steps:
- Search VUCat to
determine whether the Library owns the book(s) you need.
- Check the shelves
to see if the books are there.
- If the books are NOT
currently owned by the Falvey Memorial Library or are currently checked out or
otherwise unavailable at the Library, then click the link here
http://palci.library.pitt.edu/~ursa/VNOVA_login.html. You may wish to copy
and paste any citation information you have found into the PALCI search screen.
Note: If the book is Not Charged and not on the shelf, you may also
contact the Circulation Department at (610) 519-4464 to initiate a search for
the item
Once connected:
Once connected to the PALCI site, enter the 16-digit number on the front of your Villanova WildCard in the
'Patron ID' field. Enter the numbers without any spaces between them. After you
locate a desired item, select 'Submit Request.' The PALCI system will choose the
best lender out of the available lenders for that item. E-mail updates about the
status of your requests are sent promptly.
Books received through this
service must be charged out at the Falvey Memorial Library Circulation Desk upon
presentation of a valid Villanova WildCard and returned to the same location.
Check request status:
You can check the status of your
requests in the PALCI system at anytime by visiting the same address you first
used to search for your request:

Courtesy patrons must use their
public libraries to borrow books from other libraries.
Should your request not be
available through E-ZBorrow, traditional interlibrary loan is
still at
http://villanova.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/logon.html.
