  • MLA Bibliography (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) *[1925-]
    Consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore. Includes citations to articles from over 3000 journals and series published internationally, as well as monographs, collections, and various types of reference works.   • Expanded Academic Index * [1980-]
    Features citations, abstracts and/or full-text for articles from more than 2500 scholarly and general interest publications. Covered subject areas include current events, the arts, history, literature, psychology, political science, sociology, communications, engineering, health and medicine, and the general sciences.
  • MagillOnLiterature Plus *
    The MagillOnLiterature Plus is comprised of approximately 30,000 records, more than 1,000 images, and has a glossary of 1,310 literary terms. MagillOnLiterature Plus contains editorially reviewed critical analyses, brief plot summaries, and extended character profiles covering works by more than 8,500 long and short fiction writers, poets, dramatists, essayists, and philosophers. MagillOnLiterature Plus also contains over 6,500 biographical essays on more than 3,500 different authors, including up-to-date lists of each author's principal works.

    This database keeps abreast of cutting-edge developments in disciplines concerned with the nature and use of language. Coverage includes all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Complete coverage is also given to various fields of linguistics including descriptive, historical, comparative, theoretical and geographical linguistics.
  • Literature Resource Center *
    Provides access to biographies, bibliographies and critical analysis of authors from every age and literary discipline. The LRC is built on Contemporary Authors Online and Dictionary of Literary Biography Online and Scribner Writers Series, containing more than 10,000 biocritical essays on authors and their works written by academic scholars as well as Contemporary Literary Criticism Select.
  • Johns Hopkins Guide To Literary Theory & Criticism *
    An alphabetical arrangement on individual critics and theorists, critical and theoretical schools and movements, and the critical and theoretical innovations of specific countries and historical periods. It also treats figures and kinds of inquiry from other fields that have been shaped by or have themselves shaped literary theory and criticism as well as figures, who did not explicitly deal with, but who still deeply affected, literature, literary theory or literary criticism.
  • HAPI: Hispanic American Periodicals Index * [1970 -]
    Indexes articles, book reviews, documents and literary works about Latin America, the Caribbean Basin, and Hispanics in the U.S., from over 400 social science and humanities journals.

    Archivo Digital de Manuscriptos y Textos Espanoles: Images and text of medieval Spanish manuscripts and early imprints. The series will ultimately include all texts written in Castellan prior to 1615.
  • ARTFL Project * [13th - 20th centuries]
    The Project for American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language (ARTFL) compiles texts of classic works of French literature, non-fiction prose and technical writing in such subjects as biology, history, economics, philosophy and literary criticism. The eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries are about equally represented, with a smaller selection of seventeenth century texts as well as some medieval and Renaissance texts. Genres include novels, verse, theater, journalism, essays, correspondence, and treatises.
  • Columbia Granger's Index to Poetry * [11th edtion ]
    Includes 13,000 poems in full-text and 250,000 poetry citations, in addition to several important new features—commentaries, bibliographies, notes on form and a glossary of prosodic terms.
  • Contemporary Authors *
    A source of biographical information on current authors in many fields and from many countries. Sketches provide personal facts, careers, writings, biographical sources, etc. Also search the Literature Resource Center for Contemporary Authors, the Dictionary of Literary Biography and numerous other resources.
  • Electronic Texts and Concordances of the Prose Works of Alfonso X, El Sabio (Ask at Reference Desk):
    Contains a complete set of texts and concordances of the Alfonsine corpus currently housed in magnetic form at the Hispanic Seminary of Medieval Studies in Madison, Wisconsin.
  • Ethnic NewsWatch * [Varies per title; 1985-]
    A full-text collection of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press. Contains articles, editorials, columns, reviews, etc. Searchable in English or Spanish.
  • Film Indexes Online*
    International coverage of around 115,000 films and 57,000 film personalities from over 170 countries. Its rich content also includes coverage of international film awards and prizes as well as searchable plot summaries and full cast and crew lists.  All eras of film-making are covered - from the early silent movies to recent box-office hits.
  • Gale's Literary Index [1400- ]
    A master index to literary series published by Gale. It combines and cross references more than 130,000 author names (including pseudonyms and variant names) and more than 140,000 titles. For biographical information and critical essays.
  • GenderWatch *
    Searchable collection of publications that focus on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum such as the arts, the humanities and the social sciences. There is in-depth coverage of subjects that are uniquely central to women's lives including family, the workplace and societal roles. Publications include academic and scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, books, conference proceedings and more.

    A bibliography on Latin America which alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities.

  • Textos y Concordancias Electronicos del Corpus Medico Espanol (Ask at Reference Consultation Desk):
    Includes 27 manuscript works on medicine, from the 14th and 15th centuries, which constitute the basis of Diccionario Espanol de Textos Medicos Antiguos.
